UPDATE ON 2017-2021 CBA NEGOTIATIONS
Further to our last updates of October 4, 2019 on the on-going 2017-2021 CBA negotiations;
Yesterday, Tuesday October 8, 2019, IPUCCF tabled a counter offer after consulting relevant government agencies clarifying the deficiencies and grey areas that the Union identified and requested for clarity.
However, on close scrutiny of the tabled counter offer, the Union found that the offer has NOT addressed the salary distortions & disparities within consecutive and or equivalent grades. Hence, the long desired HARMONIZATION of basic salaries within the payroll remains unaddressed.
Furthermore, the counter offer provided NIL offers on house allowance.
Consequently, the Union has DEMANDED that the issue of harmonization and matters house allowance be dealt with first to give meaning to negotiations.
On their part, IPUCCF has requested to further consult before addressing concerns raised by KUSU.
This is therefore to update and request you to remain calm.
God Bless KUSU.
SOLIDARITY,
Dr. Charles Mukhwaya
Secretary General, KUSU
